Minister Nelyo Isaac Sarmento Leads Strategic Discussions on Youth, Sports, Arts, and Culture in Timor-Leste Cabinet Meeting

Díli, January 17, 2024; Minister of Youth, Sports, Arts, and Culture (MJDAK), Nelyo Isaac Sarmento, attended a meeting within the Ministerial Cabinet led by His Excellency the Vice Prime Minister, Minister Coordinator of Social Affairs, and Minister of Rural Development and Community Empowerment, Mariano Assanami Sabino. The meeting took place at the Palácio do Governo, Díli.

During the forum, Minister Nelyo Isaac Sarmento was encouraged to discuss various strategic issues related to youth, sports, arts, and culture in Timor-Leste. The agenda of the discussion involved efforts to enhance youth participation in national development, the development of inclusive sports programs, and the improvement and preservation of traditional arts and culture.

This Ministerial Cabinet meeting reflects the government’s commitment in Timor-Leste to formulate sustainable policies and programs in the fields of youth, sports, arts, and culture. Through inter-ministerial collaboration, it is hoped that these collective efforts will have a positive impact on community development and create an environment that advances these sectors in the country.
